Deep River Public Library

Reader’s Workshop with Hazel Atkins

Join Hazel Atkins to explore  “The Waste Land” by T.S. Eliot. Hazel Atkins (PhD, University of Ottawa) loved teaching English literature to undergraduates before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She and her family moved to Deep River in August, 2023.
Hazel’s series on developing a reader’s toolbox through short stories and her exploration of “The Hobbit” were phenomenal, and we are thrilled to have her lead us through “The Waste Land”.
This is a free program, please register at info@deepriverlibrary.ca or 613-584-4244.

Participants are expected to have read specific sections in advance of each session. There is no assigned reading for session 1. “The Waste Land” is available to download for free through Project Gutenberg. If you would like a hard copy of the book, please place a request through interlibrary loans two weeks in advance (rdennis@deepriverlibrary.ca).
